State Revenues Still Lagging
Last week’s update by the Board of Revenue Estimates reported a $683 million write-down in estimated state general fund revenues for the current fiscal year, sending Governor O’Malley back to the drawing board for another $300 million in budget cuts. Warren Deschenaux, the General Assembly’s chief budget expert, added to the misery with a fiscal update projecting a $1.9 billion gap in the FY 2011 state budget.
