General Assembly to Broadcast Committee Hearings Online
The Maryland General Assembly updated its website today, and the update brought good news. This year, the state legislature will stream standing committee hearings online.
Interested Marylanders will now be able to listen in on Senate hearings and stream audio and video from House hearings.
Last session, several lawmakers called for steps to make state government more transparent and accessible. During the 2010 session, committees finally started to post committee votes online. Streaming the hearings online is the next step.
