Frederick Delegation Discusses Maryland’s Budget
The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce held its Legislative Preview Breakfast this morning at Dutch’s Daughter Restaurant in Frederick.
The county delegation talked at length about Maryland’s fiscal situation and the looming budget deficit. They agreed tax increases are unlikely this session, but they urged business people to remain vigilant.
“I don’t think there will be revenue increases this year. I don’t think the legislature has the stomach for revenue increases,” said Del. Richard Weldon (Unaffiliated-Dist. 3A). “We just passed a significant increase in just about every revenue source that we have discretion over last year during the special session.”
