Employer Representatives Needed for Health Exchange Board
On April 12, Governor O’Malley signed into law the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange Act of 2011. The legislation is effective June 1 and establishes the governing structure and powers of the Exchange. Employers are guaranteed representation on the Board of Directors of the Exchange and related advisory committees. The Administration is now receiving applications for a position on the Board of Maryland’s Health Insurance Exchange and/or expressions of interest in serving on any Advisory Committee to the Exchange which will be created by the Board.
