Emergency Stormwater Regulations Delayed
The proposed stormwater emergency regulations that were agreed to by impacted stakeholders have been delayed. The Chair of the Joint Committee on Administrative, Executive and Legislative Review (AELR), Senator Paul Pinsky, is expected to delay a vote by the AELR Committee, or significantly amend the agreed-upon language within the emergency regulations.
As a result, House Environmental Matters Committee Chair Maggie McIntosh has scheduled a sponsor-only hearing Wednesday for the original stormwater legislation, HB 1125, sponsored by Delegate Marvin Holmes. The Chamber supports this legislation, which provides local jurisdictions the authority to provide waivers for specific projects that have received preliminary plan approval. The bill also provides clarification to the redevelopment policy.
