2009 Business Agenda Stresses Competitiveness
The Maryland Chamber of Commerce will outline its Business Agenda to Maryland’s legislative leaders tomorrow during Business Day in Annapolis.
The current state of the economy presents extraordinary challenges for Maryland businesses. Therefore, to retain jobs in our state, the Maryland Chamber’s priorities for the 2009 Session focus on keeping Maryland competitive. Priorities include:
- Seeking a competitive tax structure;
- Promoting affordable health insurance;
- Limiting unnecessary workplace regulation;
- Protecting the economic vitality of the state’s transportation system;
- Limiting unnecessary workplace regulation;
- Defending civil liability laws; and
- Balancing environmental law and regulation;
