Maryland Delegation Split on Debt Compromise

The House of Representatives passed a bill raising the debt limit last night 269-161.

Last week, the Maryland Chamber signed on to a Multi-Industry Coalition Letter urging congress to pass legislation to reduce spending, begin reducing the deficits and debt, and to avoid the nation’s first ever potential default. Read the letter here.

Maryland’s delegation was split down the middle:

Voting Aye – Thank them for supporting the bill.

Voting No

UPDATE: Senate Passes Debt Compromise
The U.S. Senate voted today to pass the debt limit bill. Maryland Senators Barbara Mikulski and Ben Cardin both voted in favor of the bill. The Maryland Chamber thanks them for their support. Read more here.
